How do I reach Sri Sri Yoga Retreat Center?

Coming from Airport?

If you are coming by flight, you will land at Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore – from there you can choose Bus or Taxi to reach Ashram.

VIA BUS

  • Just outside Airport, you will find buses. Just go to KIAS – 5. Get the exact timings of bus. The bus will take between one-two hours depending upon time of day and traffic. The fare will range between Rs. 220-Rs. 250
  • The bus will drop you at JP Nagar Phase-6 Station. After reaching there, you can walk to the next turn to Banashankari.
  • From Banashanakri, you can take the bus saying ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram’ towards Kanakpura Road.
  • There are many buses on that route costing Rs.20-30 and will take 20 to 30 minutes to reach Ashram.

NOTE: Since there are no buses between 11 PM to 5 AM, you might want to consider booking flights that suit the bus timings.

VIA BUS

  • Just outside the Bangalore Junction, there is Kempegowda Bus Station or Majestic Bus Station. There are 25 direct route buses from Majestic to Banashankari. Get the exact bus timing here.
  • You can reach Banashankari and then change the bus saying ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram’towards Kanakpura Road.

SAFETY

Is it safe to Travel to the Ashram at night?

Yes, travelling to the Art of Living International Ashram is safe at night. You just need to keep us informed about your arrival so we can make necessary arrangements.

Is there any provision for Medical Emergency?

Yes, Ashram has a 24/7 medical emergency number through which we take care of all the medical emergency cases. We provide ambulance service, if needed. Our Ashram Campus has a clinic which is associated with one of the best hospital network in India, the Apollo Hospitals.

Is it safe for single women to come to the Ashram by herself?

Yes, Ashram is a very safe place for anybody to come and we take care of our guests like our own family.

What is the weather like in Bengaluru?

Bengaluru, Karnataka’s state capital, due to its high elevation, usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer somewhat uncomfortable. The temperature varies from 15 degree to 35 degree depending on which season is it going through. The wettest months in Bangalore are from July – October while the hottest season too is moderated by intermittent rainfall.

What is the best time to come to the Ashram?

You can literally come to the Ashram anytime during the year but we suggest you to travel depending on your other plans which may be visiting places other than Bangalore.

I am visiting the Ashram for the first time in my life, whom should I get in touch with?

How should I pack/prepare for my retreat?
  • Loose, light clothing that is comfortable to move in, is ideal.
  • Since the retreat is on the campus of The Art of Living International Center and our traditional values deem it necessary that you wear appropriate clothes that keep your ankles and shoulders covered.
  • A shawl/ jacket/ wrap for the cool mornings and evenings
  • Phone, Camera, torch, mosquito repellant cream should be carried.

Will I be able to meet Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar?

Our aim in the retreats is to help you be in the presence of our master but a personal meeting with him might be possible if he is in the campus and if at all his schedule allows.

Is it possible for me to roam freely in the Ashram?

On arrival and depending on the retreat program you have registered yourself into, we’ll make provision for a free roaming pass, and however, there are a few places within ashram which might be restricted due to security reasons. Your cooperation would be appreciated.

REGISTRATION

How do I book my Retreat?

After having finalized on a retreat program (after having discussed with our Sales/PR team), as you communicate your confirmation to us, we will send you the bank details for payment. After this, you need to deposit at least 50% of the package cost to confirm your booking. Once you have deposited the amount – through wire transfer (Internationals), cash payment or online payment, send us the payment deposit receipt (in case of cash deposit), and bank transaction ID / UTR Number in case of WIRE transfer & online payment, generated by the bank through an email.

On confirmation of your deposit in our accounts, we’ll send you a confirmation email with a booking ID and booking details. A hard copy of the confirmation document or a soft copy in your mobile/handset needs to be produced on arrival while checking in.

NOTE: For International Payments, the deposit might take at least a week’s time to reflect in our bank account.

How many days prior to the retreat scheduled date can we book a retreat?

You need to book a retreat (transfer/deposit money to our account) at least 15 days before the scheduled date of the retreat for nationals and at least 30 days for internationals; however, the registration confirmation may be subject to availability. On the spot registrations will not be entertained.
